LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST
"I have always believed it is possible to make a difference one person at a time...and that is what I do as your State Representative. With over a decade of government experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental agencies, and get things done."
– Mark Wheatley
Open, Honest, & Responsive Government
COMMON SENSE REPRESENTATIVE
Government is your tool and your connection to legislation. I have a reputation for answering calls and emails, and responding to your concerns. I will continue to deliver a common sense approach in legislative deliberations.
EAGER TO MEET WITH YOU
I am available anytime to meet with you, listen to your issues and getting back to you with information regarding your concerns. I believe government is here to serve YOU. As your representative, I have been doing just that for over a decade.

Commitment to Family & Community

STRONG FAMILIES
I helped pass measures that are protecting our children and keeping drugs and methamphetamine drug houses out of our neighborhoods.
GOOD JOBS TODAY
I helped pass tax reform benefitting all Utah families. I made sure that these reforms benefitted individuals, families, & small businesses — not just large corporations.
QUALITY OF LIFE
I voted to protect the water and open spaces that we all enjoy in Utah. When they are continually threatened by unchecked growth and inefficient use of natural resources, I will always be the reasonable voice for preservation.
PROTECTING SENIOR CITIZENS
I helped pass for greater funding for Salt Lake County Aging Services; for Meals on Wheels & Community Senior Centers.
Commitment to Education
EDUCATION FUNDING
I have always prioritized responsible funding for public education to decrease class sizes, provide necessary supplies to our classrooms, and compensate teachers fairly. I've received an A+ rating from the Utah Education Association every session in which I have served.
AFFORDABLE & ACCESSABLE HIGHER EDUCATION
I retired after working 15 years as an administrator at Salt Lake Community College. I currently serve the Higher Education Appropriations Sub-committee. I know the key for Utah's economic success is a strong and vibrant higher education system. Innovations developed on campuses create more jobs in our private sector. I am committed to enhance funding for our colleges and universities to attract eager students as well as the best faculty and staff.

Commitment to Our Environment

RESPONSIBLE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
We, in Utah, are responsible for protecting some of the world's greatest natural treasures. I don't take this responsibility lightly. I continue my commitment to ensuring the right to a healthy environment for all Utahns. This includes working across the aisle to make sure that all voices are heard in our legislative process. I will make sure your voice is included in Utah's environmental decisions.
"THE UTAH WAY" OF LIFE
There are as many ways to enjoy Utah's natural wonders as there are people in Utah. Protecting and enhancing Utah's Way of Life for future generations is one of my top priorities. I will continue to support legislation which provides clean air and water for our communities and preserves our 84,899 square miles of canyons, trails, parks and open spaces.
Commitment to Fair & Responsible Business
SMALL BUSINESS FOR JOBS
According to the most recent data, there are 313,590 small businesses in Utah and they provide 45.4% of all of the jobs in our state. In addition to providing so many jobs, small businesses make it possible for more Utahns to build wealth and provide firm foundations for their families. I will continue to support these businesses as a customer and as a legislator.
FAIR BUSINESS IS GOOD BUSINESS
I will continue my work to eliminate unfair tax exemptions for big business that shifts the tax burden to our small business owners. I will also work across the aisle to eliminate un-necessary bureaucratic obstacles to Utah's entrepreneurs.
