                LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST

"I have always believed it is possible to make a difference one person at a time...and that is what I do as your State Representative.   With over a decade of government experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental agencies, and get things done."

 LIST OF ISSUES

OPEN, HONEST AND RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT

Government is your tool and your connection to legislation.  I have a reputation for answering your calls and emails and responding to your concerns. I will continue to deliver a common sense approach in legislative deliberations.

I am available anytime to meet with you, listen to your issues and getting back to you with information regarding your concerns.  I believe government is here to serve YOU.  As your representative, I have been doing just that for over a decade.

QUALITY OF LIFE
Voted to protect water and open spaces threatened by unchecked growth and inefficient use of natural resources.

PROTECTING SENIOR CITIZENS
Voted for greater funding for Salt Lake County Aging Services for Meals on Wheels and Community Senior Centers.

EDUCATION

I have consistently prioritized adequate funding for public education in order to decrease class sizes, provide necessary supplies to our classrooms and compensate teachers for what they are worth.  I've received an A+ rating from the Utah Education Association every session in which I have served.

I retired after working 15 years as an administrator at Salt Lake Community College.  I currently serve the Higher Education Appropriations Sub-committee.  I know the key for Utah's economic success is a strong and vibrant higher education system.  Innovations developed on campuses create more jobs in our private sector.  I am committed to enhance funding for our colleges and universities to attract eager students and the best faculty and staff.

ENVIRONMENT

Protecting and enhancing Utah's way of life for future generations is of utmost importance to me.  I will continue to support legislation which provides clean air and water for our communities and preserves our canyons, trails, parks and open spaces.

BUSINESS

Small businesses provide the majority of jobs for Utahns.  I've served on the House Business and Labor Standing Committee and know small businesses need a user-friendly government, not one that creates obstacles.

I will continue to support legislation which eliminates unfair tax exemptions for big business and puts the tax burden on the backs of our small business owners.
